Getting Started With PRIME

How do I get started with PRIME Medical Group?
Getting started is simple. Book a free consultation online or call us at (888) 717-7463. During your consultation a PRIME care coordinator will discuss your symptoms, health history, and goals. From there we schedule your comprehensive lab testing and physician evaluation — and build your personalized treatment protocol based on your results.

---
Do I need to come in person or can I do everything via telehealth?
Both options are available. We have locations in Chicago, IL and St. Petersburg (Tampa Bay), FL for in-person visits. We also offer telehealth consultations and follow-up appointments for patients nationwide through our LabCorp partnership — you get your blood draw done at a LabCorp near you and meet with your PRIME provider virtually. Most patients manage ongoing care entirely via telehealth after their initial evaluation.

---
What states do you serve?
We serve patients in-person in Illinois and Florida. Via telehealth and our nationwide LabCorp partnership we serve patients in most U.S. states. Due to state-specific prescribing and pharmacy regulations we are currently unable to serve patients in California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, or Mississippi. Contact us to confirm availability in your state.

---
How long does it take to get started?
Most patients complete their free consultation within 1-3 business days of contacting us. Lab results are typically available within 24-72 hours depending on the panel ordered. Your provider reviews your results and builds your protocol shortly after — most patients have a treatment plan within 1-2 weeks of their initial consultation.

---
What happens during my first consultation?
Your first consultation is a free no-obligation conversation with a PRIME care coordinator. We discuss your current symptoms, health history, medications, lifestyle, and goals. We explain the evaluation process, answer your questions, and help you choose the right lab panel to get started. There is no pressure and no commitment required at the consultation stage.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) & Testosterone (TRT)

Am I a candidate for hormone replacement therapy?

Most adults experiencing symptoms of hormonal decline are
potential candidates. Common symptoms include persistent
fatigue, weight gain, brain fog, mood changes, poor sleep,
low libido, and reduced physical performance. The only way
to know for certain is through comprehensive lab testing.
We evaluate your full hormone panel and build a clinical
picture before recommending any treatment.

---

What is the difference between HRT and TRT?

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a broader term covering
replacement of any hormone — estrogen, progesterone,
testosterone, thyroid, DHEA, and others — in both men and
women. Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) specifically
refers to testosterone optimization, primarily used for men
with clinically low testosterone levels. Women can also
benefit from low-dose testosterone as part of a broader
HRT protocol.

---

How quickly will I see results from hormone therapy?

Many patients notice improvements in energy, mood, and sleep
within 2-4 weeks of starting treatment. Full benefits —
including changes in body composition, mental clarity,
libido, and physical performance — typically develop over
3-6 months as hormone levels stabilize. Results vary based
on individual biology, adherence to protocol, and
lifestyle factors.

---

Is hormone replacement therapy safe?

When prescribed and monitored by a physician, hormone
replacement therapy is safe and well-studied. All PRIME
protocols are physician-supervised and include regular lab
monitoring to ensure your hormone levels remain in optimal
ranges and to identify and address any side effects early.
We follow evidence-based clinical guidelines for all
hormone therapies.

---

What are the potential side effects of testosterone therapy?

Testosterone supplementation may cause side effects
including acne, injection site reactions, fluid retention,
mood changes, elevated red blood cell count, changes in
cholesterol levels, reduced sperm production, and
testicular atrophy with long-term use. Some men experience
elevated PSA levels. All side effects are monitored through
regular lab testing and addressed promptly by your provider.
Report any unusual symptoms to your care team immediately.

---

Do I have to stay on hormone therapy forever?

No. Hormone therapy is not a lifetime commitment. Many
patients choose to continue long-term because of the
sustained quality-of-life benefits, while others
discontinue after achieving their goals. If you decide
to stop your physician will guide you through a proper
discontinuation protocol to minimize the risk of hormonal
rebound and maintain stability.

---

What is bioidentical hormone therapy and is it right for me?

Bioidentical hormones are molecularly identical to the
hormones naturally produced by your body. Many patients
prefer them for this reason. PRIME Medical Group offers
both bioidentical and conventional hormone therapies.
Your physician will discuss the differences and help you
determine which approach is most appropriate based on
your labs, medical history, and preferences.

Medical Weight Loss & GLP-1 Programs

What weight loss programs does PRIME Medical Group offer?

We offer physician-supervised medical weight loss programs
including GLP-1 therapy using compounded semaglutide and
tirzepatide, metabolic lab testing, hormone optimization
for weight-related hormonal dysfunction, peptide support
for metabolism and appetite regulation, and nutritional
guidance. All programs are personalized based on your
lab results and goals — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

---

What is semaglutide and how does it work for weight loss?

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist — a class of
medication that mimics a natural gut hormone to reduce
appetite, slow gastric emptying, and improve insulin
sensitivity. At PRIME, compounded semaglutide is available
only by prescription following medical evaluation and lab
testing. All compounded medications are prepared by
licensed 503A or 503B compounding pharmacies.

---

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Individual results vary significantly based on medical
history, adherence to protocol, lifestyle factors, and
genetic factors. Clinical research on GLP-1 therapies
has demonstrated average weight loss of 15-20% of body
weight over 12-18 months in some studies. Our patients
have achieved a wide range of results — some of our most
successful cases are featured on our Weight Management
page. No specific outcomes are guaranteed.

---

Is medical weight loss safe?

When supervised by a physician, medical weight loss
programs are safe. All PRIME weight loss patients undergo
comprehensive lab testing before starting and receive
ongoing monitoring throughout their program. Potential
side effects of GLP-1 therapy may include nausea,
gastrointestinal discomfort, and changes in appetite.
These are typically manageable and often resolve as your
body adjusts to treatment.

---

Do I need to diet and exercise while on a weight loss program?

Our programs work best when combined with appropriate
nutrition and physical activity — but we meet patients
where they are. Your PRIME physician will provide guidance
on nutrition and lifestyle adjustments that complement
your medical protocol. We do not require a specific diet
or exercise program but we do provide coaching and support
to help you maximize your results.

Peptide Therapy & Longevity Medicine

What is peptide therapy and how does it work?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as
biological messengers — signaling your cells to perform
specific functions. Peptide therapy uses physician-
prescribed peptides to support processes like growth
hormone stimulation, tissue repair, fat metabolism,
sleep quality, immune function, and cognitive performance.
All peptide protocols at PRIME are prescribed following
medical evaluation and are dispensed through licensed
compounding pharmacies.
---
Who is a good candidate for peptide therapy?
Peptide therapy is used by a wide range of patients
including athletes seeking recovery optimization, active
adults experiencing age-related decline, executives
looking for cognitive enhancement, first responders
recovering from occupational injuries, and patients
managing chronic inflammation or slow healing. Your
PRIME physician will determine which peptide protocols
are appropriate based on your labs, health history,
and goals during your consultation.
---
What is NAD+ therapy and what are the benefits?
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme
essential for cellular energy production, DNA repair,
and mitochondrial function. Levels decline significantly
with age. NAD+ IV therapy delivers this molecule directly
into the bloodstream for maximum absorption, supporting
energy, cognitive clarity, metabolism, and cellular
longevity. It is one of our most popular longevity
treatments and is available at both our Chicago and
Tampa Bay locations.
---
What are the potential side effects of peptide therapy?
Potential side effects of peptide therapy may include
gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, bloating, and
changes in appetite, as well as injection site reactions,
headache, fatigue, and dizziness. Side effects vary
depending on the specific peptide protocol. All protocols
are monitored by your PRIME physician and adjusted based
on your response. If you experience severe or unusual
symptoms contact us immediately or call 911 in an
emergency.
